The Science of NAA: Natural Achievement Ability

NAA: The Method

Almost from as far back as I can remember, I have been curious about mind.

Are we really isolated beings subject to all manner of limitation, chance, ill health, bad luck, unhappiness, lack?

Or is there something more to us, that we have not been taught, and that maybe the majority of the world does not understand?

When I was 18, I bought a book about the magic of the mind. It basically stated that if you visualize what you want in life, you get it. I visualized and got very little.

But I was fascinated. What was the fact—the truth—about mind? I wondered. Maybe there was no truth about it, other than the fact that we have a brain that thinks, and if we individually have the ability to think imaginatively and creatively, plus if we have enough drive and determination, and put in sufficient action, we may be a success.

The problem with this, is that when you look around at the tremendous effort invested by the majority of budding entrepreneurs, and see the degree of dissatisfaction, lack, limitation and frustration amongst so many existing business owners, and employees—in fact, evidenced in the lives of most of the population—this ‘brain power’ concept didn’t hold much promise.

The mystery burned away within me at such an intensity that, over the fifteen years following, I studied just about every serious subject that has been written, practiced and taught about mind and its power.

Science, metaphysics, positive mental attitude, affirmation, incantation, visualisation, religion, auto-suggestion, subliminal suggestion, mind control, personal power, tithing, thinking big, goal setting, intention, laws of success, laws of love, power of attraction, pyramid power, praying, burning incense, burning candles, hypnotism, occult power, chanting, visiting holy places, applying ‘massive action’, applying ‘1000%’ commitment, manifesting, making a wheel of fortune (picture board), alchemyI have tried so many methods and bought so many hundreds of books, tapes, CDs, and course materials that I could start a library if I had nothing else to do.

But borrowing these books and materials wouldn’t do you many favours. None of it worked to bring tangible, sustained prosperity, success and satisfaction.

I often felt good. I often felt at peace and hopeful for my future prosperity. I often felt as if I could achieve ‘anything I put my mind to.’

But, by and large—despite concentrated effort and application—it all remained a future state of success and prosperity I continued to look forward to.

Then Came Crunch Point

Then finally—at a deep low point in my life—I caught a glimpse of the most extraordinary mystery, the most powerful force of fulfillment in life.
And in one two-hour period that changed my entire life quickly and forevermore, I realised that everything—everything—I had read, listened to and practiced was wrought with error.

HERE’S THE SECRET

The two-hour period that changed my life consisted of one simple but crucial difference from anything I had done in all the years preceding it.

I sat down, closed my eyes and simply listened—as if waiting for mind to reveal something to me.

Everything I had read, heard and attended told me to do specific things (tithe, burn candles, chant etc), think specific thoughts (affirm, incant, state desire etc), visualise specific images (money, customers, grand offices, luxury cars, parking spaces etc).
But I had reached the point of being mentally and physically exhausted with the effort of doing these things with little or no fruitage.

When I sat in the chair that day, I was finally ready to give up the whole game. I’d had enough. I said to myself—or to whatever ‘mind’ might be out there, listening—

“This is it! If there is anything out there, it had better make itself known, because I’m throwing in the towel. I’m ready to let the whole lot collapse around me.

I’ll camp on the beech and let life get on with itself without me trying to be anything that doesn’t come about naturally.”

I didn’t say or think another word for two solid hours. I didn’t desire one thing. I just let go.

What happened during those two hours was life-changing.

Instead of me trying to tell mind
what I wanted and hoped would be
delivered, mind flowed from within me.

Instead of me incessantly hurling thoughts, instructions and desires at mind, mind poured gently yet lavishly through my silence.

That was the day I experienced the wonders of the greatest secret ever revealed to the human race. I’ll describe it as this:

Don’t tell; listen.
Don’t try; let.
Don’t think; be silent.

What happened next saved my neck. The following morning a business owner called out of the blue and said, “Can I send you £10,000.00, I would like you to work on a project for me.”

The next day his cheque arrived. The most extraordinary sequences of events, beauties and opportunities continue to flow into my experience.

Since that day, I have practiced to the best of my ability being silent, listening, letting—then acting on what flows into my mind, or what is drawn into my experience.
I have discovered that the Eastern mystics of the ages knew this and stated it as being the secret of their being able to perform seeming miracles of health, prosperity and achievement.

Simply Stated

The intellect and the mind are two different aspects and functions of intelligence. The intellect is the conscious, thinking, desiring, planning, worrying, fearing aspect of your intelligence. It’s effort. When you try to decide, try to plan, try to achieve, try to become wealthy, try to find love, try to find fulfillment you are applying the effort of intellect.

The problem with the intellect is that it draws from experiential reference: education, values and life experiences. Well, we’ve seen what use these three are to us!

Mind is different. Education, values and experiences mean nothing to mind. Mind is pure intelligence, ever active. What does it care about an education you’ve received that may have little or nothing to do with who and what you really are as an individual? What does it care of values your intellect has absorbed that may have little or nothing to do with who and what you really are? What does it care of experiences—either yours or others’—that may have little or nothing to do with who and what you really are?

Answer: it doesn’t care. It sees right through these cosmetics and beliefs of life. It is only the pure you that you are. It can be nothing less, nor anything else.

Mind has one function: bringing out the pure and complete fulfillment of the you that you are.

This Is Why Being ‘You’ Is So Important!

Mind takes no notice whatsoever of your education, values and experiences—even your desires—when they are intellectually garnered.

The ‘real’ you—your mind—is forever flowing to your awareness your individual true desires, directions and opportunities—the desires, directions, events and opportunities that are your highest and most satisfying and pleasurable fulfillment—but you’re not listening! You haven’t been taught to listen! You’ve been taught the very opposite—to think incessantly, plan incessantly, desire incessantly—which is all the use of the intellect.

The ‘real’ you is the you behind the intellect, the you that has intuitive thoughts, dreams, ideas, inspirations that flow naturally into your awareness when you are relaxed and peaceful.

That’s why you find your mind often overflows with ideas, innovation, creation and achievement when you’re on holiday, or walking the beech, or ambling through the forest, or hiking the hills away from the busy-ness of intellectual activity.

But what do you do with these ideas, inspirations and glorious dreams? You ditch them! You say to yourself, “Oh, that would be wonderful, but who am I kidding? It’s just little old me. It’s a nice dream but let me get back to reality!”

You are your reality—the ‘real’ you—not the little you that has been pumped with generic learning, values that fly in the face of what you feel and truly desire, and experiences—both your own and that of others’—that make you shrink into a safety zone of frail comfort and mediocrity.

You—the giant, real, extraordinary you—is the ‘you’ you hear when you relax the intellect, relax effort, relax strive. When you listen to ‘you’, and act on the ideas and opportunities that flow, you will quickly discover a life of virtually effortless achievement, wealth and joy.

Let Me Give You An Example

Suppose I confused you for someone else I knew. I greeted you and started talking about when we met by chance in the summer, in Edinburgh, Scotland, along the Royal Mile when I was doing a programme in the city.

I’m convinced it was you, but you know it wasn’t! In fact, you’ve never visited Scotland, therefore you certainly weren’t in Edinburgh on the date I’m mentioning.

‘You’ know you were in Italy last summer, even though I am sure you were in Edinburgh.

Do you see? I am using my intellect, you are in your right mind! My intellect is assuming something that actually is not true about you.

This is a crude example but you get the idea. For each of us, belief systems, upbringing, social conditioning and education has pumped our own intellect full of 'cosmetic' direction and self-belief. Your intellect adopts and acts on assumptions of who you are, what you want, what you need, and what will fulfil you by exterior reference and programming.

The ‘real’ you is the inner you—the 'you' you have been since the day you were conceived—before the barrage of exterior influence, education and experience invaded your intellect.

Mind Is Pure Intelligence

Mind—pure mind, before the limitations and evolved beliefs of the intellect kick-in—is boundless, infinite intelligence. Intelligence is forever active—there is no such thing as dormant intelligence (it wouldn’t be intelligent to be dormant).

Your mind—pure intelligence—forever in a state of activity, flows with ideas, opportunities and the orchestration of events which bring about harmony, prosperity and fulfillment to you.

Again, it is not intelligent to bring about anything inharmonious, lacking, or dissatisfying. Harmony is intelligent, abundance is intelligent, fulfillment of purpose and being is intelligent.

Mind is individually and uniquely active as you, as me, as every individual. The inspirations and ideas that flow into your awareness are unique to you. When you have an idea or hunch to do something, I am not having that same idea. It is yours, and is unique to you.

You have not been taught that you should act from your inner awareness, rather than outer stimulants and desires. Yet, this is the single greatest secret of success in life and business.

Normally, we think incessantly, talk incessantly, desire incessantly, plan incessantly, worry incessantly. All this ‘ surface chatter’ blocks out the natural flow—the activity—of mind that always has the very answers, directions and opportunities we seek but attempt to experience through the intellect.

Mind is your all-in-all. Even as you begin to listen to mind, and be receptive to intuition and hunches, and act on these, you will quickly see such a change of fortunes in your business and personal life that you will hardly recognise yourself to be the same person you were a few weeks ago.

But this only becomes true of your experience as you build ‘mind-time’ into your daily diary as top priority, and treat it as, or more, seriously than any important diary entry: stick to it!

I tell my private clients and telephone mentor clients to treat their ‘mind-time’ diary entries as they would critical meetings with clients. If a client—even an important client—calls requesting a meeting or telephone talk for the time you have a ‘mind-time’ diary entry, treat the request like you would against any other important fixed entry—tell the client that you are sorry, but that time is not available. Reschedule your client’s requested meeting to make certain your mind-time is not interrupted!

It’s that important.

How To Build It Into Daily
Business And Life, And Get
Fruitful Results Quickly
And Permanently

Every day, carve out at least three periods of 10-30 minutes each, when you will go to a quiet place, close your eyes, relax your intellect, and let the flow of mind pour through into your awareness.

Here’s how to do it:

1, Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed. This is your personal time, so do not allow it to be interrupted. Unplug the phones. If you don’t have a suitably quiet place, drive to somewhere quiet, park and sit in the car. Go wherever you have to go to be quiet and uninterrupted!

2, Begin each Mind-Time with contemplation of something big—the ocean, the forest, the planets and stars, the mountains, the trillions upon trillions of snow flakes falling, or water drops falling as rain. Why? The aim of contemplation is to lift your conscious awareness out of, or up above the finiteness of every day living and circumstances, and into the realm of expanse, infinity, limitlessness, vastness.

The mere contemplation of vastness—no matter what subject matter you use in your contemplation—releases mind from being trapped in the minutiae and finiteness of your effort and strain to achieve success and wealth, into the realm of effortlessness and lavish abundance that is nature.

You will soon discover that mind also exists and exerts itself in the realm of effortlessness and lavish abundance, just as witnessed in the activity and fruitfulness of nature. As you contemplate in this way, you quickly you discover that the same effortlessness and lavish abundance pours into your conscious awareness (from mind), and—as long as you act on the stream of ideas that come to you—(which, if you are passionate about your business, you will do so with equal passion!)—‘grow’ into high-demand product and services, flourishing sales, big profits, cash, wealth, success, recognition, power and leadership.

Try to ‘get’ these results by using the intellect and physical action only and you’ll struggle to get anywhere worthwhile. Allow mind to be your ‘ideas-bank’, adopt a continual ‘listening’ attitude as if you were always expecting mind to pour more ideas through to you, and your business will fly to a height no one else is able to understand and no one else can copy.

3, At the end of your contemplation time—make contemplation about 90 or 95 percent of each 20-30 minute Mind-Time—simply be silent. Adopt a ‘listening’ or ‘receptive’ attitude—as if you were going to receive an idea.

This silence is critical. During it—as your intellect is calm as a result of contemplation—mind flows through. This is the coin—the actual substance that is idea and inspiration that you act on, which in turn becomes money, wealth, success, attainment in your experience—and infinitely so. It never ends, as you continuously—daily—formerly open your awareness to the rich flow of mind in the way described.

4, Always act on the ideas you receive, and quickly. Don’t sit on them. Implement continuously, daily, even hourly often. (For instance, as I have been writing this, I am integrating the physical activity of writing with regular, short periods (just minutes) of ‘mind-time.’ As a result, each paragraph flows out of mind directly onto this paper, like water flowing in a stream.

These paragraphs didn’t exist in my intellect. I have no outline other than the broad desire of providing you with methodology in NAA. I am simply writing as I am inspired to write, and as I hold myself in an almost perpetual state of ‘listening’ or ‘receptivity’ the actual words flow from within me.

The intangible becomes the tangible, one and the same.

The resultant value to you is immeasurably greater. If I ‘churned’ this report from the limited and recycled substance of intellect it would have little value for you. You wouldn’t find it interesting. It would fail to grab you.

But because every sentence you are reading is the flow of mind as words you will be captivated by what is being described, and will find the method easy to adopt and practice.

You will find yourself motivated to make this your way of life, and you won’t really be able to explain why. The words will be alive for you; they will leap off the page and become your own.

That is the effect of mind in action—mind flowing as the very ideas, inspiration, and action you express in your every life and business move, decision and direction.

When this is your secret method in life and business, nothing—and I do mean nothing—can stop you from soaring to heights of success and wealth the majority of entrepreneurs only ever dream of attaining.
